I don\'t know much about these, so I\'ll explain all that I see.
The exterior looks terrific. In really good shape with great color. The exterior back is black, and in the center you can see the number 1874. I added the April 28 because that is what all of the other Connell bells with \"1874\" say. I can\'t read anything well except the 1874. I\'m sure if I cleaned it, I could. Researching this bell, it appears to have everything it need internally. But, I\'m not entirely sure. I\'m sure if you are looking for one, the photos will show you everything you need to know internally.
The bell is cast brass and the base appears to be cast iron.
The top twists off very easily. The interior look great. The inside of the cover has a nice patina. I could clean, but feel many buyers like to keep the old things looking old. I\'m sure the buyer will clean if they wish.
I don\'t have the thumb pull, but I\'m sure if you are looking for one of these, you either already have it, or are looking for one.
