Antique Victorian Guard Chain…..
Guard chains are becoming harder to find as they are melted down or splitup.
Of the few that are around, most are the plain belcher.
This one is particularly nice then as it has a fancy rope link with an alternatingelongated one. It dates to around 1900 and has that beautiful rich colourassociated with that period.
It looks great tripled around the neck and there is a swivel link on itthat you could use to attach a pendant.
It is nearly 5’ long at 58” and is in excellent condition.
The type of link means that they are solid 9ct gold there are nohollow links and because of that it has stood the test of time and is inexcellent condition with no damage ie squashed links.
Length is 57\" (145.5CM)
It is stamped 9ct on one of the old Victorian plaques that you findattached to antique chain. The swivel is also stamped 9ct.
