Antique Victorian Scottish Lace Agate, Amethyst and Cairngorm CitrineSilver Carved Brooch

This sale presents a lovelyVictorian Scottish Cairngorm brooch that looks a lot like whatProfessorMinervaMcGonagall wore in the Harry Potter films. I purchased this on well over 10 years ago from a Scottish Jeweler.

This brooch features threeCairngorm Citrine stones and one Amethyst stone, set with Montrose Lace Agate inan engraved Celtic silver setting.The stones are all nicelyfaceted with open backs.

The silver isn’t marked, which is common for Scottish brooches of the 1870’s era but themetal is sterling. The diameter is ~~ 1-3/8 inches.

The silver is aged, but shows nicelywhen the brooch is worn and is beautifully crafted. The clasp works nicely too!
