ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SILVER FINELY CARVED SHELL MEDUSA & SNAKES CAMEO BROOCH c1880:

A super quaity antique natural shell cameo, finely hand carved to depict Medusa, with snakes in her hair and around her neck, set in a simple solid silver mount for wear as a brooch.

Such a lovely carving...very collectible & so wearable!

CONDITION: All original and very, very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Mount later.

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1880. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS:44 x 38mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 12.5grams.
