Measures 12\" by 8 1/2\" by 3\", made of wood with burgundy velvet on the exterior, white metal hinges on the pair of doors, embossed white metal decorative straps and latch. The interior has several compartments for your accoutrements that are lined with pale blue ruched satin. Two little compartments are fitted so that they must have held perfume bottles. The little red velvet section in the middle with the satin running down the center must have been for a little manicure set and maybe a button hook- that little piece is hinged to easier access the compartment it rests over. There are some stains on the satin and the two panels on the inside of the door need to be reglued to the door. The velvet on the outside has a very worn knap. It would be a terrific jewelry box or a great sewing box with plenty of room for scissors, thread etc. It might also be a fun challenge to hunt for antique vanity items to fill it again. It came from a local estate.
