oFor those of us who admire and love the old Frenchdecanters but can\'t quite manage the high cost of the ones in sterling silver,or who want one for informal table use, here is a fabulous one for everyday use.The finish is \"Etain\" which is a white metal with a silver platefinish. Dates mid to late 1800s, is presented in fine form, and is perfect toput to use time and again when you\'re not displaying it (or entertainingRoyalty). The quality is fine, the crystal glass carafe is exquisite andbeautiful. Decant your wine for table, and do it with this lovely antique.
oThe thick worked crystal glass is stunningly beautiful,empty or filled. Light passes through the decanter as a prism in waves as arainbow owing to the thickness of the worked crystal. No chips or damage to thecrystal.
oVery good condition for age and type. As can be seen in thephotographs, the decanter has some rubs to the old silver plate at the handle and covered lip and also on the baseand a few other spots. This one has been used and enjoyed.
oIt\'s tall and large and holds a full bottle of wine (750ml), and will always be fun and at thesame time elegant to use at the dining table.
