Well here is an amazing item but with a tragic story. A genuine ancient bronze Western Zhou Dynasty Ding vessel.I bought this last year at sale and arranged shipping with the saleeer\'s recommended shipper. I informed them that it must be treated as FRAGILE but the idiots packed it with just a handful of packing material allowing it to bounce around freely in the box and this is the result. I was disgusted and appalled and took the appropriate legal action. Now that\'s all over I\'ve decided to move it on to someone who has the ability to properly restore it. The leg is cleanly broken off with no loss of metal and fits back perfectly,so all it needs is a professional restoration. Damages and repairs on ancient bronzes are very common anyway and at least this one can be repaired with current advanced techniques,unlike many which were badly repaired years ago. This is a very large Ding at almost 13 inches tall x 10 inches wide. There are some ancient characters inside but they are partly covered by the patina so are very hard to see or photograph. I have seen smaller Ding sell for tens of thousands of dollars at high level sales so there is big potential for gain if desired once it is repaired. There is no other damage,just some corrosion patches (the lighter colored areas).A stunning item for a serious collector of early Chinese bronzes.Guaranteed to be original and antique or money back.
