Truely stunning ruby and diamond ring.This ring is the really deal, it is set with a glittering ruby and two good size absolutely great quality natural diamonds. The diamonds are set with a platinum surround in a rubover style setting which still lets lot of light in.
The upper part of the twist of the setting is also platinum faced. The rest oof the ring being of solid 18ct yellow gold. The ruby has excellent clarity and gives a lovely display of rich red sparkle, it appears a rich red colour in most light, incandecent/ sunlight, and as can be expected in colder/blue light has red with pinky/purple hue. Just gorgeous!
The ruby measures 5mm diameter and 3.4mm depth, approx 60points/ 0.60cts.The diamonds are just rare top quality natural untreated from the earth treasures. The appear a truely colourless to te eye so must be graded H or better D-G( I always think it starts to become noticably yellowed above that).
The clarity and cut is also extemely good, please look at the last blown up picture. I am not qualified to grade them but there are certainly no eye visible inclusions so I would think have to be VS or possibly better!The diamonds each measure approx 4mm diameter and 2.8mm depth, which calculates to approx 0.28cts each. So approx 0.55cts total. The are an early full brilliant cut.The ring is an original vintage and most likely dates from the late deco period.It is currently a UK size Q and I could resize it for a much reduced rate, please contact with desired size for a quote.
