Here I offer the most famous porcelain figure ever designed by Ernst Wenck "Die Trinkende" = the drinking Maiden. Graceful Girl - handmade and handpainted fired porcelainin excellent condition. This tasteful nude figure was produced from the highly regarded german manufactury Rosenthal, Selb, Bavaria, Germany. It is a very graceful nude girl drinking water with her hands.First formed in 1924 (Art Deco time) from the famous sculptor Ernst Wenck. Ernst Wenck is impressed on the pedestal of the figurine. The hallmark was used in the year 1928. This is the x-large version of this model. Normally you will find the small sized figurine, the large version is rare to find and this xl-version I have had only once in hands before during the past years!
This figurine impresses through the stunning details. She is finished in a matte glaze, the skin in flesh colors with handpainted face and brown hair.

Ernst Wenck (Reppen b. Frankfurt/Oder 1865 - 1929 Berlin) für Rosenthal-Selb, knieender weiblicher Akt. Sehr guter unbeschädigter Originalzustand.
Weißer Porzellanscherben, Porzellan, farbig staffiert. Kniender, weiblicher Akt mit hochgestecktem Haar, aus den gefalteten Händen trinkend; rechteckiger, flacher Sockel. Auf Sockel sign. Ritzmarke Ernst Wenck (eingepresst), Unterseite bez.: grüne Manufakturmarke für das Jahr 1928, Modell-Nr. 752 (Blindprägung) sowie Malersignatur "A. Geigenmüller". Siehe auch Rosenthal, Kunst- und Zierporzellan 1897-1945, Band 3, Emmy Niecol, S. 156.
Ernst Wenck war von 1885 bis 1889 Schüler der Unterrichtsanstalt des Kunstgewerbemuseums und der Akademie der Künste in Berlin. Nach einigen Auslandsaufenthalten (1885–1891) wurde er zunächst Mitglied, später Zweiter Vorsitzender der Berliner Sezession. 1922 wurde er Mitglied der Akademie der Künste. Neben einigen bemerkenswerten Denkmälern haben sich einige Porzellanfiguren für Rosenthal erhalten.Quelle: Wikipedia
