Jarvie Hand Hammered Art Nouveau Copper Tray, almost 11\" by 5 1/2\" inches. The tray is marked on the back “The Jarvie Shop”, probably early 1900’s Chicago. There are some minor scratches which would buff out no dents, some minor bends, which could be original. The patina is as found, it looks to me that it was polished occasionally. The tray has a beautiful Art Nouveau design of a heart shaped leaf, perhaps a philodendron, around the edge of the tray. It is deeply embossed, with prominent signs of hand work, from the workshop of Robert Jarvie, a small but wonderful Arts and Crafts metalwork piece by the maker of those famous design candlesticks. Because the shop only operated from 1904 until 1920 these pieces are becoming more and more difficult to find. Over the 40 years I have Collected this is the first piece of Jarvie\'s work I have ever come across. Please let the photos be your guide. They are close ups so you can see the true condition of the piece. I consider it to be in great condition with some minor surface scratches. I am aware that many of Jarvie\' pieces sell for thousands, but I am offering this piece at , at a ridiculous starting price, so that everyone may have a chance to offer. Soon you will only be able to visit these pieces of museums, this is a premier piece of American arts and crafts and anyone would be thrilled to add it to their collection. Best of luck offerding!
