This sale is for a very attractive and stylish antique oil lamp (c.1886) in very good to excellent condition. The colors and images onour lamps are shown in the photos. Our lamps are genuine antiques. We simply restore their original beauty where we can.

This lamp hasa rare square footedbase and theVERYRARE &ORIGINALBASE WEIGHT. A three step solid brass connector is next. It has had a couple of age cracks repaired.

Seated securely in the connector is a beautifully hand painted porcelain stem showing a leafy branch with mauve and soft pink flowers and a couple of buds to decorate.

More brass connectors support a very pretty frosted blown glass font with a romanticMoon & Clover on a Scalloped Band (c.1886) clear pressed patternthat is bright and crisp. It really looks very much like a wheel cut pattern that\'s how nice it looks in person!

Next comes a very clean, tried and trued, #2 sized \"BANNER\" burner (c. 1886) made by the PLUME & ATWOOD Mfg. Co. in Waterbury, Connecticut complete with the wick! Attached to the burner is a solidbrass4\" shade ring that cradles a fantastic 8\" glass ball shadewith color coordinating flowers and a gold colored scrolling design that harmonizes with the \"Moon & Clover\" pattern on the font very well.

On the top of this beautiful ball shade is the original and very rareantique (c. 1886)beaded \"Heat Ring\"to protect the next treat. Lastly, but certainly not the least, is the original antique, hand rolled (showing the spiral rolling marks) 12\" clear glass chimney fire polished onboth ends!From the base to the top of that chimney is24\" of real kerosene/oil lamp history!Dating backfrom 1886puts this lamp at 132 years old!

This stunning antique lamp offers a \'Feng Shui\" calmnessto any room.

We have been criticized for restoring our many types and styles of antique oil lamps with being told it devalues them. Well, let me say this... it isn\'t the value we are after so much as it is trying to allow our future generations the opportunity to see, first hand, just what these lamps looked like way back in the day when our grandfathers and great grandfathers were our age.

Preserving these antiques restores the emotional value for our future generations. How much is that worth? By leaving them, as those whocondemned our practices would prefer,to decay (and they do, believe me) thenquite a fewwouldn\'t lastbeyond this generation.
