Authentic Vintage Cartier Love 18kt SOLID Yellow Gold Bracelet signed by Aldo Cipullo Small Circa 1969. This has been pre owned. A little ware. Comes with original Cartier bag and a screw driver. ( NOT ORIGINAL SCREW DRIVER). Comes with a authentic Cartier box. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL BRACLET SOLID GOLD DESIGNED BY ALDO CIPULLO. This is not like the other love braclets. This is all original. You dont come across many of these anymore. In the summer of 1969, a young Cartier staff designer created a remarkable new item that was to become one of the most famous status symbols of our age. The designer was the late Aldo Cipullo...and the item was the Cartier "Love Bracelet". Cartier first came out with the Love bangle in 1969. It was designed by Aldo Cipullo to resemble a medieval chastity belt. It can only be removed with a key, in the form of a tiny gold screwdriver. The Love bangle is meant to symbolize complete devotion to another person. There are countless tales of lovers tossing their keys into the ocean in the heat of passion. It was originally only sold in pairs to couples, and Cartier gifted his and hers bracelets to 25 famous couples, including Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The original love braclets never had serial numbers on them and did not hve the size listed, as this one. I do not know the size. I measured the best I could and believe it is a 17 . The original were also in a oval shape. (See pictures) This particular Love bangle is special because it is signed by Aldo Cipullo himself, and is inscribed with the year 1970, the year after the Love bangle was designed.
