A very nice Adelphi (1890-1915) sterling silver candy bowl with
a pedestal done in repousse technique and featuring an art nouveau floral motif.
I believe this is a \"HIBISCUS\" pattern.
The scalloped, wavy edge bowl is stamped \"STERLING\" and shows the Adelphi
\'bumble bee\' makers mark, 925/1000 and 304.
It is in VERY GOOD VINTAGE condition with a few minor dings
and minimal surface wear. Measures ~6\" diameter and deepens about ~1\", heigh ~ 3\", the weight is ~80 grams.The price reflects not only the value of thesilver itself , but also the piece’s rarity and artistic value.
Adelphi Silver of N.Y. in business 1890 - 1915, so this bowl is very old and rare.
