This beautiful Baule Elephant mask originates from cote d\'voire.Decorated with natural pigment colours and extra long tusk,makes this mask unique.It is said elephant with trunks pointing upwards is a sign of good luck.The Baule origins are from Ghana,history reveals they fled east in the 17th century led by their queen Pokou,being chased by then the powerful Ashanti warriors.They reached the river komoe where the queen sacrificed her son to the river in order to cross with her people.After doing so she cried baouli,meaning the child is dead,after then they became known as Baule peopleThey became great carvers of animal mask.
