An early very fine example of alexander Ritchie\'s \" Iona Dove \"design with Glasgow hallmarks pre 1914.. with twin AR \"spectacle \"mark and also the AR conjoined mark and stamped Iona.....this brooch/fob has a silver clip marked S.S which maybe an addition but is certainly of the period .....the brooch /fob ins in untouched and uncleaned condition, only the hallmark has been lightly cleaned .. the Glasgow hallmarks introduced a thistle motif from 1914.. which dates this fine piece to before that date .. length 2 inches..... .I am not too sure that brooch is not geese. as they are the symbol of peace in the iona community . and geese keep same partners for life perhaps someone can enlighten me ,
