A very early edition of \'Alice\'s Adventures In Wonderland\' by Lewis Carroll, dated 1877 and in good condition.
Early edition (55th Thousand), published by Macmillan & Co, London, 1877. 192 pages, plus 1 page publisher\'s advert at rear.
The red cloth binding has some rubbing / bumping to the corners and spine extremities, and a slight fray to the bottom left corner of the spine. The gilt decoration is bright and the lettering is clear.
Internally, the pages are clean and complete, with the occasional light mark and spot of foxing. The front hinge slightly pulled/slack, and the front free (black) endpaper has partially split from the pastedown.
Overall, a good clean early edition of this highlight of children\'s literature.
