THIS CLOCK WORKS BEAUTIFULLY AND KEEPS ACCURATE TIME, IS A STRONG RUNNER AND THE WESTMINSTER CHIMES RESONNATE FAR AFTER THE \"DOUBLE STRIKE\" HAMMERS STRIKE THE CHIMING RODS INSIDE THE AWESOME MAHOGANY CASE!!! A double strike hammer combination simply means that one set of 4 hammers on the left side of the chiming rods, plays the Westminster Chime Tune, and the second set of 4 hammers on the right side of the chiming rods, is utilized for the hour count at the top of the hour. Thus, producing a multi-tone sound when the clock strikes the top of the hour, rather than the usual single tone which is found in most clock. This was an added feature for those who could afford such a clock in the beginning of the 1900\'s....a status symbol for the rich...and now you can have it in your home.:-)
Junghans is known for classic German craftsmanship and this rare Tiger Strike Bracket/Mantle Clock is no exception. This amazing, beautiful clock has beveled glass which was reserved for only the top clocks and it is without scratches or marks. Everything is original (except for the key), and has been brought back to its original glory for years of enjoyment and satisfaction. The warm Westminster chime Tones will fill your home as this clock rings on the 1/4, 1/2. 3/4 and top of the hour and then gives a multi-hammer hour count at the top of the hour.
The \"J\" Junghan\'s logo inside the star is clearly seen on the back brass plate, (see Picture #11). The Back Brass Plate also shows the \"1.15\" stamp which denotes that this clock was made in January of 1915, only 5 months after the start of WW I (July 28th, 1914) when Woodrow Wilson was president of the United States of America, making this clock 102 years old. Now is your chance to own a piece of history for your home. Look at the pictures and see how clean and beautiful the Tiger Stripe, Mahogany Case is. The original pendulum is clean and has a clear shine. A replacement key is also given with this amazing, beautiful Westminster Chime clock. The gold, front dial is beautiful, clean and has an amazing floral scroll work and there are no dark marks or abrasions which are normally seen in a clock of this age. The Arabic numbers are easily readable. The bezel closes securely and is tight and hinges are strong and secure and the BEVELED GLASS IS CLEAN AND FREE OF MARKS OR SCRATCHES. The back door closes with a functional sliding latch mechanism and their is a small brass handle to open the door and slide the mechanism and even the back of the clock has a beautiful, rich beautiful mahogany wood grain that is clean and free of marks or abrasions...TRULY BEAUTIFUL and is highly reflective. There are two subdials present at the top of the face of the clock. The left subdial is used as a silence/chime feature if you desire to silence the beautiful, warm resonating Westminster Chimes. The right subdial is used for fast/slow adjustment, if needed. The clock is running accurately prior to shipment, but may need some adjustment following Priority Shipping by the USPS :-) All four Mahogany feet are present and provide a firm, strong foundation for this beautiful clock.
