This is a stunning solid silver topped hand cutcrystalspecimen vase. The piece is HallmarkedBirmingham Silver and is made by the wonderfulBirmingham SilversmithHenry Perkins & Sons (I believe) . He is a wonderful Silversmith who is now widely collected as he only made beautiful solid silver pieces for such a short period of time. Therefore due to the quality of his work and short amount of time that he created solid silver items, his work is rather scarce, in short supply and is highly respected,collected and in demand.Henry worked inBirmingham and first registered with TheBirmingham Assay Officein 1909 and onlySmithed for 19 years,he stopped production of his exquisite silver pieces in1922. Therefore he only produced for such a short period of time. I am advised that his work is all sought afteras his beautiful pieces spanned the Art Nouveau into the early Art Deco Era\'s. I am delighted to offer such a piece. The piece is fully hallmarked \"HP&S with the lion,anchor (Birmingham) and date letter m. (Hallmark slightly rubbed).This is a most wonderful hand cut crystal specimen vase that is in a rather beautiful form and shape. It is a square piece with silver collar, this tappers into a tiny waist and then there is a globe shaped vessel at the base of the vase for water. What is remarkable about this piece is the exquisite hand cutting and every inch of the piece is profusely hand cut with divine cutting. It is a work of art and is quite mind blowing howbeautiful and how someone managed to cut and facet this piece even at the narrowest point. It is a Cornucopia of Delight!The piece is in excellent condition with no damage to the silver and thehand cut crystalfaceted body is also in excellent condition with no damage, chips or fleabites. A highly collected London Silversmith and adelightful piece of crystal. For me personally this piece is all about the exquisitecutting of the crystal.
