Stunning American sterling silver four piece coffee and tea set in a Danish modernist style with reddish black hardwood handles and finials as well as beaded rims and bases. Each lid is decorated with a wood and silver ball and modernist leaf finial, and the open sugar, creamer, and tea pot each have applied stylistic simple floral rims. The handles on the coffee and tea pots have minor bead decorations on their base and are in a modernist floral and scroll form. Designed by the world renown maker La Paglia for International Sterling in 1952 after studying with the legendary Danish silversmith Georg Jensen.

This magnificent tea set includes:

1 Tea Pot: 12 1/2\" across the handle, 7\" wide, 6\" tall with lid.

1 Coffee Pot: 10 1/2\" across the handle, 6\" wide, 8 1/4\" tall with lid.

1 Creamer: 6 3/8\" across the handle, 4 1/4\" wide, 3 1/2\" tall.

1 Lidded Sugar Bowl: 4 3/4\" in diameter, 3 3/4\" tall with lid.

Total combined weight of silver: 97 ozt.

The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
