The original Little Angel Girl was titled Little Blower Girl and was created in 1903 by Pewabic\'s founder, Mary Stratton. It was created for the American Blower Company of Detroit. The American Blower Company of Detroit manufactured industrial fans for Detroit\'s auto factories. The child depicted is modeled after the daughter of Horace Caulkins, the developer of the Revelation Kiln and Mary Stratton\'s business partner.
In 2002, Pewabic designer Mario Lopez added wings to the child to make her an angel.
