For your consideration is a truly unique and extremely well preserved Black & Decker wooden tool box. We have only seen a small handful of these offered for sale, and this one is in far superior condition to the rest. The decal on the front is approximately 95% intact, and the leather handle on top is complete and in very good condition for its age. The only flaws (or non original part) is the lower left hinge has two replacement screws installed, and one of the back panels is loose, but we didn\'t want to destroy the originality by gluing it tight. Other than that, this is truly a museum piece! We\'re not sure of the original intended purpose was based on the tool trays, but everything appears to be intact and in good working order. The dovetail construction is flawless and all original with no signs of later repair. Based on other listings of like pieces, we feel this box dates to the 1920\'s, and was manufactured by \"American Novelty Works, Herdon, PA\" for Black & Decker.
Chances are this is the best example of this early Black & Decker tool box inexistence. A must for tool collectors or Black & Decker employees, this tool box displays amazingly well....Please study the attached photos and use them as the ultimate guide to detail and condition, and ask all questions prior to purchase.
