This is an Amazing, Original Ink Painting of a Village Steep in the Mountains with a Waterfall by Yongqun Guo. This beautiful painting is on handmade paper and rice paper. In EXCELLENT condition. It is signed and dated in the upper left area. It measures approximately 28 1/4\" x 18 1/8\". As you can see in the photos the ink bleeds through the handmade and rice papers. The painting is sparingly adhered to a white foam board in the top right and left edges, this is so it can be removed easily for framing. The foam board measures 34 1/4\" x 25\". Yongqun Guo, an emerging master of Chinese - style artistry, was born in Chongqing, China. Yongqun Guo developed her unique style after studying with traditional Chinese artists. She uses handmade paper and rice paper in her intricate drawings, and long lasting ink colors derived from natural material. Using the handmade paper and the rice papers, allows the ink to soak through. Once the ink is dry the painting is resistant to moisture and sunlight. Guo\'s Village scenes feature the architectural style, landscape and huge trees of her home town. Her paintings of cranes, which symbolize good luck and loyalty in China, depict native Asian Crown cranes or American Sand cranes. The movement in Guo\'s paintings, storms, wind, rain, snow, animals running, birds flying and diving, adds mystery and life. She captures the essence of the object, the momentary impression of it, but strives to present its soul. She leaves space so viewers can use their imaginations, beyond her brush strokes, bringing immediacy and personal involvement to her vibrant images. She has lived in the United States since 1992. Her paintings usually sold out, are displayed in some of the most prestigious galleries.
