Batakundi Star Sapphires of this size, quality and color are extremely rare. This one of a kind fine jewel is approximately 20 carats, is crafted from a clearly formed single crystal of alluring Pinkish-Purple. You can see the well defined hexagonal heart of the crystal and the beautiful sharp red and clear zoning that is typical of Batakundi Sapphires. There are no graphite inclusions that are common with Batakundi gems. It is very clean and highly polished.
This fine gem is like many that come from the Azad Kashmir region in that it has the pink veil effect causing a dreamy look to this sapphire when illuminated with a bright light source.
