For sale here is a Canadian-made Ross Mk I bayonet. The handle is marked Ross Rifle Co., | Quebec | Patented 1907. In 1917, the US government purchased 20,000 Ross rifles and bayonets from Canada. They were intended for training purposes due to a shortage of American rifles. They were marked \"US\" with the Ordnance Department\'s flaming bomb. The opposite side of the handle has the Canadian acceptance mark of the broad arrow followed by \"08\" and then \"87-09\". The back of the scabbard has an \"L\" over 4-09 (likely the date April 1909) over the letter \"A\" over the number \"24\" over the number \"43\". There are some other symbols and markings on the lower part of the scabbard. The release button on handle works as it should. The bayonet measures 14 1/2\" long Everything described above is shown in the pictures. Domestic shipping only. Insurance will be included.
