This house was built during the Depression era by the original owner\'s father.It was made for his sister who has since passed away.The brother is now in his middle 80\'s and sold this house on.I believe the family may have come to Monterey from Oklahoma during the Depression and that is the story I was given.This house is being sold as found.I will wipe it over gently but I don\'t want to disturb the patina and the new owner can decide what they consider to be dirty or appropriate use and condition.The house is a fabulous color and is a soft pale french grey with off white trim.
Lots of chips and shade variation as to be expected.The roof lifts off and has buckled on the top.
Four twist catches secure the roof.It measures 47 inches long and is 19 1/2 inches tall to the top of the flat roof.
It is 31 inches wide.
The two chimneys are just over 23 inches tall.Downstairs there is a double front door which leads to a small hall with a closet and then to the stairs.
On this side of the lower floor there is a large room with a fireplace opening.
The two side panels lift out.
They have hinges but there isn\'t a pin so they pop off and snap back in to close.
They are painted and rusty.
On the right side of the house by the chimney the small panel pops off as with the front panels and this room looks like the kitchen.
The back of the house has a door on the left side.
The doorway opens to another hallway with a small closet and either to the kitchen or to another larger room.
This leads to a larger large room with a fireplace.
The back of the house has one door with three windows. 2 are arched and one is a rectangle.
The walls are stable and the floors are in good condition with some minor lift on the Lino effect kitchen floor.Upstairs there are 7 rooms and a smaller closet.
There are 10 arched windows and some have rusted out little screw eyes on the inside where curtains were once hung.
One interior half wall has separated and that wall is made of a thin three layer plywood.
You can see the knots in the ply.
Some of the floors are flat and some have some buckling.
2 rooms have a Lino effect on the floor but it feels more like card than Lino.
There are 10 doorways.
There is a hallway that leads to the downstairs.
The staircase has 12 treads.It is quite heavy and due to the size I recommend that it be blanket wrapped for shipment.
