An Unusual 19th Century Brass Double Calipers c1800/20:

This unusual antique pair of double calipers i think date from around 1800/20 , the calipers are made of brass and have loads of patina with age as seen in the photos, i am not certain of the use of the calipers but presume it was for some engineering purpose perhaps, there are some holes in the arms of one end that i do not know what they are for and there is a repair to one arm of a caliper that has been executed very well , the calipers measure 3.75 x 2 inches and general wear and tear with age and use
