Ancient Greek Terracotta Male head
Ca. 1st Century BC. Ptolemaic EgyptTerracotta Head of a Male Figure / Satyr. Head features short cropped rather disheveled hair and very unusual applied disc eyes over deeply incised horizontal slits; goat shape ear. Another unusual aspect of this intriguing piece is the fact that it is hand-formed and not mold-made. Round hole atop head for attachment of a headdress.
