Ancient Persian Luristan Bronze Age Spear Blade Weapon - 1200 BC:

A superb example of an Ancient Persian spearblade, dating to theLateNear EasternBronze Age,approximately 1200 B.C.

The powerful blade is of triangular form, with prominent central mid rib and long, elegant tang with a triangular recess a third of the way down its length, designed for insertion into a wooden pole in antiquity, now long since perished.

Thisweapon would originally formed part of the burial contents of a wealthyPersian Warrior. The Bronze Age Peoples of Ancient Persia were a warrior-society who were expert metal-workers. GenuinePersian weapons such as this are some of the best value pieces on today\'s art market.

Length of weapon:17inches.

Condition: Excellent, a fine and heavy example with fantastic malachite patina and areas of age related encrustation. Unrestored.
