This very rare hand signed postcard wassent from iconic American photographer Ansel Adams to OlgaRodakiewicz, the widow of noted experimental filmmaker Henwar Rodakiewicz, on February 22, 1976.
The reason behind the sending of thiscard was to send condolences from Georgia O\'Keefe, who had been afriend of the late filmmaker, and was the subject the documentary“Land of Enchantment”, produced by the U.S. Department ofInformation and directed by Henwar Rodakiewicz in 1951.
At the time of this cards beingwritten, Georgia O\'Keefe (note the “P” typo in the message) was88 years old, and visiting Adams at his home in Carmel, California.The message features both Adam\'s hand written signature and an inkstamp bearing his name, his P.O. box number address, and his personaltelephone number.
The card front image features AnselAdam\'s photograph of Nevada Fall, located at Yosemite National Park.
The card\'s massage side has some slightfoxing (see photo), and bears an $0.11 U.S. Airmail stamp with theillustration of a jet airplane.
