Antique 1 Gallon? Glazed Stoneware Jug-A Margulis Philadelphia-1906-1916:

Offered is this antique glazedstoneware liquor jug. The jug is mostly tan with a dark brown top and is markedin blue \"A. Margulis Wholesale Liquor Dealer, N.E. Cor. 4th & MonroeSts. Philadelphia\". Some quick Internet research finds that this liquordealer was in business at that location from about 1906-1916.

The jug is approx. 101/2\" high, including the partial cork and about 7\" in diameter acrossthe bottom. Although I haven\'t measured its capacity it looks like a one gallonjug to me. It is in very good condition for its age, with no cracks. There area few small chips and minor marks and some of the brown glazing is missing,probably from the time of manufacture.
