Antique 10K Gold 1896 THE HILL SCHOOL Pottstown, PA Mens Class Ring DIEGES CLUST:
$162.50

This is an antique 10k yellow gold men\'s class ring from The Hill School in Pottstown, PA. The front of the ring is embossed with the words, \"The Hill School\" and the date 1851, when the school was established. It also has the school\'s logo and motto, \"Whatsoever Things Are True.\" On the sides of the ring it is dated \'96 for 1896.The illustrious Hill School is known as a preparatory boarding school mainly for Princeton University. It started as a boarding school in 1851, enrolling 25 boys the first year. The school didn\'t become co-ed until 1998. Among the school\'s alumni are several actors, authors, scientists, politicians and professional sports players. Some of the most famous alumni include George Patton the IV, son of WWII General George Patton, Academy award winning producer / director Oliver Stone, Actor Harry Hamlin, Lamar Hunt, the Firestones, the Mayos (of the Mayo Clinic) and Eric and Donald Trump Jr., sons of US President Donald Trump.

On the inside of the ring it has the maker\'s mark of the prestigious Dieges & Clustjewelers and is marked 10 Karat. Dieges & Clust produced many famous medals, trophies and rings including the 1904 Olympic Medal, the Heisman Trophy from its inception in 1935 through late 1979 when the company was sold, and the 1936 New York Yankees World Series Ring.

The inside of the band is also engraved with the initials J.J.V.N. IV. This ring came from a local estate and included another ring that was engraved with the name J.J. Van Noppen, so I believe this is the name of the person the ring belonged to.

The ring has some scratches and wear commensurate with its age. The scratches can easily be polished out by a jeweler, if desired; however I prefer its antiqued patina. The ring is approximately a size 9. It measures about 7/8\" wide x 3/4\" high. It weighs 11.8 grams.

A great named piece of The Hill School history created by iconic and important historic American jewelers.
