ANTIQUE CIRCA LATE 1800S-EARLY1900S FOLK ART DOLL WHICH IN REALITY IS A THIMBLE HOLDER THE DOLL IS ALL MADE OF FABRIC WITH ONE PAPER ARM (OTHER PAPER IS LACKING ON OTHER ARM). THE HEAD IS A THIMBLE THAT SITS IN THE COLLAR.

GREAT EARLY SEWING ITEM. FOUND IN PENNSYLVANIA.

ON THE DRESS THERE IS A MANUSCRIPT NOTE IN INK THAT READS: \"MY NAME IS MISS PIPER I\'M NOT A PEN WIPER BUT IF FROM YOUR SHOES YOUR BUTTONS YOU LOSE, THEN COME TO ME AND DIRECTLY YOU\'LL SEE WITH WHAT GREAT DELIGHT I\'LL SEW THEM ON TIGHT.

THE DOLL MEASURES AROUND 7 INCHES TALL.

THERE ARE A FEW OLD SHOE BUTTONS AS WELL

THE DOLL IS OVERALL IN GOOD SHAPE WITH SOME MINOR WEAR FROM AGE & USE.

THE PIECE CAME IN THE OVAL PAPER BOX, ALSO AN ANTIQUE. THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX IS LOOSE AND THERE IS SOME MINOR WEAR FROM AGE & USE BUT A NEAT PIECE OVERALL. THE BOX MEASURES 8 3/4 INCHES LONG X 6 1/4 INCHES WIDE X 3 5/8 INCHES TALL.
