Antique 1800s leather body doll, Kestner 171, 22/23”

The body of this doll is in amazing condition considering its age. No holes or tears. Cork stuffing is still full. Dolls head, and forearms/hands are bisque. Markings on back of head look like either “I3” or the number “13,” and then “147.” There may be more markings under her wig but I didn’t want to remove it because it is well attached and in good condition.

She has pretty painted features including full eyebrows and lips. Delicate blush on cheeks. Accent markings in her nostrils, painted lower and upper eyelashes. Painted sleepy eyes.

She is definitely old and in very good condition for her age.

When I originally posted her, I didn\'t know what kind of doll she was. I have had two people contact me to tell me she is a Kestner 147.

I have been asked if I “lamp-tested” the dolls head. As mentioned below, I am not a doll collector. However, upon request, I did hold the dolls head up to a lamp and looked closely at the face and all around the head for cracks. I did not see any. I did not take the wig or pate off – I do not feel qualified to do that so no lamp was shone inside the head.

My mother’s doll collection was left to me and she was an avid collector and displayed her many dolls with pride, but alas, I am not a collector. Therefore, I am doing the best I can with descriptions and pictures but I am not an expert. And, as I am not a collector, I am not accepting any returns. I only accept PayPal for payment.
