The makings on this sweet rattle shows the maker to be Hilliard & Thompson and made in England. The marking of a small \'b\' stands for Birmingham putting the time it was made to be between 1825-1856. I tried to capture a picture of the markings and have two separate pics....It has a lion facing the left; the small \'b\' and an anchor. This makes this rattle one of the oldest I have seen listed. There is a slight dent in one of the bells that I have pictured and naturally the whistle shows use. Excellent collector item! I myself have been the owner for roughly 40 years.
