Antique 1840s Paper Mache Papiermache Milliners Model Doll w/spaniel curls & bun:

This wonderful, early antique, circa 1840s, papiermache (paper mache) shoulderhead doll stands about 10 1/2 inches tall and is completely original, head, limbs body and clothing. She has a lovely deep, wide shoulderplate with rounded shaped shoulders, which is held in place on her original kid leather body with slender waist and original, long wood carved arms with beautifully shaped hands and fingers as well as wooden lower legs (each held in place with their original, scalloped pink paper trim), needs flat feet. Her charming and very early brunette hairstyle is parted in the center with long, thick curls on either side of her face with exposed ears (\"spaniel\" style) and beautifully curled bun at the back. The attached brown string is attached around her waist in a bow and was probably original and can be removed as her head is firmly fastened. She still wears all her original clothing: long, off white cotton pantaloons, matching cotton petticoat and pleated skirt (which was probably originally covered by another silk skirt to match the faded, flower printed, moire silk bodice and sleeves). She is in excellent condition for her age with no damages or repairs, no chips or repainting and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. There are just faint age lines on the seam of her shoulders and her clothing shows some age spots which we have not tried to clean. Other dolls shown are not included and each listed separately.
