Unique, one of a kind, antique tin type photograph featuring a bearded man wearing a top hat holding a one wheeled hand cart with the handles in his hands with a young boy standing nearby. The cart has painted on the side panel; JOPLIN CO. 50 lbs of MINERALS for the CENTENNIAL EXPOSITION. I assume this cart was wheeled around to advertise the Joplin display at the Exposition.

Joplin County in Missouri had a display of minerals at theCentennial Expositionin Philadelphia in 1876. This exhibit was funded by large mining companies and by the “Ladies of Joplin” who hosted benefits to raise money for Joplin County to be in the exposition.

Oddly this tin type is an error, due to it\'s backward. All the lettering on the hand cart is backward. Faircondition. Measures about 3.5\" x 2.5\" across. See my photos for condition details. Buyer pays $4 shipping.
