Up for sale is a beautiful Frister & Rossman fiddlebase sewing machine. The serial number 4415838 * 221538.
According to my research this makes it a 1880 model. The badge reads \"Frister & Rossman, F & R, 28 London Wall, Shuttle Machine\" Do not be mistaken, this was a German made sewing machine imported into England. Do your own research, there is an excellent website called \"fiddlebase\"
The handle turns freely and the needle goes up and down. I have not sewn with this antique but I see no reason why it shouldn\'t. The shuttle and bobbin are in place. The decals are worn but remember it is 135 years old. Please inspect the pictures closely and ask questions. I\'ll try to respond promptly.
I love the cover. There is no key; the machine needs to carried from underneath rather than the handle. There are scratches, scraps, nicks. There are also some cracks in the sides. Look the the top the cover - fantastic! The corners are dovetailed. There is a storage compartment inside the cover. I\'ll repeat; I love the cover.
This sewing machine is available for local collection or I can send by UPS.
