We are offering for sale thisnice antiquemantel clockmade by The Seth Thomas Clock Company. It features the Adamantine finish in black and green marble. Seth Thomas was well known for their Adamantine mantel clocks which they began making in 1882. Adamantine is a celluloid veneer which was glued to the wood case. This clock has a patent date of September 7, 1880.

We purchased this clock at a recent estate sale where it was stated that it was in good working condition. We wound it up and it has been running continuously for about a week now. Itchimeson the top of the hour withone to twelve chimes and there is a separate bell that is struck every half hour.

It features twogreen marble veneer half pillars with gold bases and tops on both sides of the clock face, engraved intricate scroll workon the lower base front and around the clock face, Lion\'s head gold handles on both ends , decorative gold feet and a green marble veneer top. The Seth Thomas trademark is clearly marked on the movement. The clock measures about 15 1/4\" wide x 6 1/2\" deep x 10 1/2\" tall.

The condition is overall very goodwith a few small nicks and chips to the Adamantine veneer that do not detractin any way from theappearance of the clock. The clock face has somelight wear and a few slightly darker areas. Part of the original label is missing on the back of the clock and there is a split in the wood back plate, all of which can be seen in the photos.It comes with the original wind up key.

Considering this clock is more than125 years old, it is still in very good condition and runs nicely. It would be a nice addition to any clock collection.
