Antique 1887 Dutch Sterling Silver Shell Snuff Box Bible Scene Abraham Isaac:

Antique Dutch .833 silver snuff box circa 1887. Box is almost scallop or pillow shaped. The hinged lid features a biblical scene from the book of Genesis. Depicted is Abraham about to sacrifice his son Isaac below an Angel sent by God to stop him. Interior retains its original gold wash.
Hallmarks: Piece is stamped in four locations with the following Dutch hallmarks, \"Left Facing Figure with M, C, Lion #2,\" and the maker\'s mark \"WJSS.\"
Dimensions: Height 1\" x Width 2 3/8\" x Depth 1 7/8\".
Weight: 34.5 grams.
Condition: Great antique condition with a few flea bite dings to base.
