DollDetails:
Hereshe is- a really lovely- and oh so very rare- Columbia by CM Bermann in a nice extra-large size! In addition to being a quite rare dolly, she is in remarkable condition, with no repairs to the leather and no chips to the bisque- really in wonderful, museum worthy condition. As if that\'s not enough, she comes to you wearing a superb purple heliotrope vintage day dress- just spectacular!
Her deeply turned head, in this nice big size, is quite finely and delicately modeled, with chubby cheeks and a sweet expression. She really has a lovely and very well painted shoulderhead, with her original working sleep deep chocolate brown paperweight glass eyes (a rarity to find brown eyes in a Bergmann, as well). She has a delicately painted light peach open mouth with molded teeth; dust and dirt to crevices. She has both upper and lowerlashes painted, and nice extra thick French style multistroke eyebrows with faintred eye and nostril dots. Pretty pink cheek blush, too! No chips or cracks to head.
Her body is the original, and not a bit of it has been repaired, just one or two lighter \'clean\' areas where once there were price stickers (probably from the 1950s or so, no stickers remain); it\'s in quite good and clean condition. Note the well made, rather wide gored feet, a Bergmann hallmark. No chips or missing fingers to hands. Her modern wig is charming, with two plaits and curly bangs in the front, very pretty.
CostumeDetails:
Dress: Really charming antique rayon satin frock with inset lace placket with tiny gem in front, attached bow belt, and smocked yoke. Probably made for the doll in the mid 1920s; some fading.
Undergarments: Antique set of pantaloons and petticoat, both with matching handtatted lace, c1920s, some stains; additional silk rayon petticoat, c1930s era, and linen embroidered chemise, c1940s era, some age stains to all
Stockings: knit doll stockings c1960s, a bit dirty
Shoes: Vintage 1960s patent leather doll shoes, slight wear to soles
Allin all, a really pretty, extra large, and elegant CM Bergmann Columbia- worthy of a special place of honor in any collection!

Kindly Take a Moment and Read This Before offerding:
Marionettejilly is not a big ol\' corporation. We are actually pretty nice folks, with an interest in antiques, fighting upstream against inflation and the economy just like everyone else. In the rare event that there is a problem with an item, just sit back, take a deep breath, and tell us about it calmly. We have not set out to scam you. Chill. All the policies below are just because a couple of folks in the past decided to be meanies. We know you\'re not like that- we certainly aren\'t.
Here at Marionettejilly, we try to be accurate with our descriptions- but we aren’t perfect, and we may have missed something that’s important to you-- so ask before an sale ends! We sell mostly vintage and antique items, with wear and the ravages of time as to be expected.
Do not expect our vintage items to be in new or like new condition- many of our items are fragile, played with, and many are over 100 years old.
AND---- many of our items have been in storage for years,so if you are allergic to dust, or sensitive to certain scents or smells, we do not recommend purchasing vintage items.Use your own good common sense, and expect an item to have a unique patina and history all its own- with imperfections inherent in antique pieces!
Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 5 pm, Eastern Standard Time. We cannot answer emails unless they come through the message system- this protects both parties. Emails received after these hours will be answered as promptly as is possible on the next business day. Please do not expect a response during the weekend- with any luck we are out doing something fun, far far away from the computer!

And, as a final note to the patient people who have bothered to read everything so far: Sorry if we sound crabby. Sometimes people can be so petty and unreasonable it can break your heart. We\'ve had a run of really awful experiences this season- let\'s hope it ends soon, before we lose the rest of our hair, our jolly perspective on life in general, and our much-needed sense of humor!!!
