Antique framed homemade punch paper needle work. \'God Bless Our Home\'.

This lovely primitive victorian era piece was made in approximately 1890 in Sand Beach Township, Michigan as evidenced by the advertising date on the two brittle newspaper sheets that were found behind the needlework. To preserve the historical importance of this piece, I carefully put the two newspaper sheets back into place after inspection. You can see a little bit of them in the photos peeking out around the backside edges.

The frame is tight and secure with no loose joints.Lead glass is clean and clear with no breaks, chips or cracks. As can be seen in the photos, this seemingly \'homemade\' frame has various areas of wear, bumps, scratches etc. The backing which also looks homemade, has a few small missing areas that show through to the front. These flaws make it all the more charming as it adds to the homemade folk art feel of the piece. The punch paper design is beautifully done with colorful details. It has faded with age and sun exposure but this too only adds to its charm. One small area to the left bottom that shows staining.

This lovely antique piece measures: 23 1/2\" in length X 10 1/4\" tall.
