Antique 1898 Carved English Oak Coal Hod Scuttle Metal Liner & Shovel RN633692in excellent condition for a 100 years old. One of the best hand carved pieces that I havecome across, the pattern appears to be English Ivy on both of the side panels andon the top panel which also has a center shield,the front panel has a flower design witha border and the back panel has a shell flanked on either side by floral design. All of thecarvings are raised designs, the scuttle has ball feet, there is a shovel holder attachedto the backpanel of the coal scuttle. There is a metal liner which has wear from age and use,the shovelis marked on the back of the handle RN 633692. You won\'t find a better exampleofhand carving than this piece.
