Up for sale is an amazing 1st edition of \"Leslie\'s Offical History of the Spanish-American War\", (the book is a pictorial and Descriptive Record of the Cuban Rebellion, the Causes that Involved the United States, and a Complete Narrative of our Conflict with Spain on Land and Sea).The book was published in 1899 by General Marcus J. Wright, War Records Office, Washington. The book includes endoresement letters signed by thenPresident McKinley, and numerous other Generals and War Officials.
The book is also embellished with 1500 original illustrations by the great war artists of Leslie\'s Weekly and pictures were taken at actual scenes. These pictures literally tell the story as well as the written word. This is an amazing 614 page large book. Size is approx 17 1/4\" x 12 1/2\" x 1 1/2\". The book weighs 11 pounds. The book has a brown leather hard cover with gold print, the picture on the front is very faded. The pages have some yellowing from age, however there are no marks, writing or torn pages. The binding is solid.
It is expected the pictures will reflect the condition of this book.
