 An antique 18th century Georgian era Wedgwood creamware plate decorated with the crest and motto of the Scottish Gray clan, and dating to circa 1770 - 1790.

The plate, almost certainly part of a commisioned dinner service, has a painted double line border in red, and the top with a hand painted on transfer crest with gilt highlighting comprising of an anchor encompassed by the motto \'ANCHOR . FAST. ANCHOR\' (the crest of Clan Grey). The rear has the impressed \'WEDGWOOD\' and the number 7  - please see photos and click to enlarge.

Size : Approx  8 1/8\" diameter.

Condition : Good antique condition with no damage or restoration and the expected marks / wear commensurate with 200+ year old tableware. The paintwork on the border is worn / scratched, there is the expected surface scratching / utensil marks to the front, and the base rim has the expected heavy wear (see last photos for close ups of wear / marks) - please see all photos & click to enlarge.
