Wonderful pair of antique 18th Century Federal fireplace andirons.Made of brass thathas beautiful old patina.The tops of the andirons are urn shape.The andirons are very heavy and sturdy (each andiron weighs 8.2 lbs.).Each andiron is 19\" tall and 8\" wide.The total length is 19\" (from the front to the end of the cast iron shanks).Great condition, no damage or repair. The brass has some areas of green color oxidation what is expected for the brass of this age. I wiped andirons only with a wet cloth to clean from thesootbefore I put them on sale and didn\'t use brass cleaner in order to preserve the patina.
