Here for your consideration isa delightful and rare, antique, Edwardian, 1905, novelty silver pin cushion,modelled as a pig with monogram, complete with original cushion. Atruly stunning pieceof workmanship, fully hallmarked\'A & L Ltd\', for Adie & Alfred Lovekin Ltd with Birmingham anchor assay office mark, lion passant and the date letter \'f\' for 1905.

Considering this pin cushionis111 yearsold it\'s in fantastic original condition, with no dents, splits or damage. It does have some beautiful age related silver patination, commensurate with 111 years of age, but nothing unusual.

First registered in 1872 working from premises in Snape Street, Hockley, Birmingham. In 1889 they became a limited company and were manufacturing a wide range of silver fancy goods at the end of the 19th century. They specialised in sewing items, scissors, button hooks, babies rattles, bookmarks, nurses buckles, and novelty silver items, their specialty being animal shaped pin cushions, in the form of swans, elephants, camels and pigs.
