Antique 1914 Water Sprite Womans Edwardian Bathing Suit Costume 1Pc & Skirt:

Offering an antique woman\'s bathing costume consisting of a one piece suit with an over skirt and I will also include a page of a 1904 Delineator fashion plate. The suit is a deep navy blue as shown in the second photo with white braid trim. The one piece suit features a sailor collar and tie front with a button down front (all buttons are present and appear to be original). The legs have gathered openings and the measurements are: Bust~38 Waist~26 Hips~ 40 Length~ 39. The skirt has a waist of 26 inches and a length of 20with a button side and button holes at the waist to attach to the one piece suit. It appears to be made of cotton. Both pieces have had some rough mends made to tears, wear to the braid and various small holes and fabric frays. The label is Water-Sprite Patented April 14th 1914. Wonderful to find bothpieces and with the fashion plate as a guide it would be great to fashion a bathingbonnet!
