Here is a wonderful antique oil portrait of a young woman in white. The painting is oil on canvas,measures 14 x 26 ins., and is in FAIR as is vintage condition. It has some surface chipped paint,crazing of paint,some spots/grime, and wear. This could be professionally restored or left as is. It has a definite Americana Folk Art look about it,painted in such a simple and creative style. Please note her white fan, her white dress( which may be her wedding gown), her delicate lemon gold earrings and collar brooch and bracelet,small rings.
The artist captured her sweetness in her eyes.I have no history behind this painting, I bought it in a small town in Virginia.Please look at the back stretcher pictures and note the large old nails someone used to secure the back corners. The wood is also heavy that the stretcher is made from.
