We are pleased to offer this fantastic antique 19th century french bull dog toy.
This friendly growling toy dog was created in France in homage to their native breed, the French Bulldog in the 1890’s. NOT A REPRODUCTION.Modeled in Papier Mache, it is life size in stature, with glass eyes, nodding head, articulated jaw and casters below their feet. He still has his straw ruff and collar. Pull on the “leash” and he bares his teeth and growls.He is 17\" at his longest and stands 15\" at his tallest point.He is Adorable and charming. A wonderful working example of this rare toy.

Good antique condition. Still structurally sound. I do not see any repairs or breaks. As you can see in the photos alot of the flocking (fur) has worn. Nodder still working. Growler still working. Wheels are intact and still roll.
