Antique 19th Century HAND APPLIEDGOLD LEAF onGesso Solid Wood PICTURE FRAME
I purchased this frame from an antique dealer in Florence, Italy in 1973. The Frame has hand-applied GOLD LEAF and is very ornate. I have several photos of the gold leaf bleed over on the back of the frame. There are two frames inside each other and they are solid wood. Structurally, the frame is in sound condition but due to age has some \"age spots\" and minor loss of gold leaf finish. I had intentionally purchased this to put one of my original paintings in but just never got around to doing it. This would make an exquisite addition to any painting you have. The dimensions are 41 x 28 and 3 1/2\" deep.
